Through our partnership with INROADS, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of minority youth, we have supported more than 50 interns since 2003. Our long-term objective is to convert our Interns into permanent opportunities upon successful completion of their internship program and their undergraduate education.

INROADS internships are offered to freshman students and provide them the ongoing sponsorship to return to us each summer, during their four years of undergraduate school. The summer is dedicated to the development of leadership skills, functional expertise, and providing networking opportunities. All internships offer project work and daily assignments to provide an additional level of expertise in their field. Each project can range from 1- 4 assignments and are presented to our executive leadership at the end of the summer program.

Interns are placed in their local market stores to build their expertise in becoming a store manager. In addition, our corporate offices provide INROADS internship opportunities for local Columbus students in several functions including: logistics, technology, research and development, merchandise planning, human resources and finance.

Qualifications for Undergraduate Internships include but not limited to the following:

  • Undergraduate degree in process and must be a rising freshman or sophomore to begin the program. Graduation date must fall either one or two semesters after completing the last summer of the internship.
  • GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • A strong interest in the retail sector
  • Proven track record of leadership in the community and/or student organizations
